Taste is a matter of preference but mastery is a matter of fact. The chefs at Arachnid Cafe are true masters of their craft and whether your favorite dish is linguini with clam sauce or Chicken Fra Diavlo, you’ll find something on the menu to salivate over.

I recently dined at their main location on 1234 Erie Blvd and it was the experience of a lifetime. The ambiance was warm and inviting from the moment I walked in. The gracious hostess welcomed us at the door and brought us to a table right away.

The decor was the perfect blend of rustic and modern. We were seated at a large oak table with comfortable, plush chairs. The atmosphere was quaint yet relaxed and after a glass of Chianti, I felt right at home.

For an appetizer we ordered the fried green tomatoes. The order came in under 15 minutes and was fresh out of the oven. It was a risky choice but it paid off. The hors d’oeuvre was full of flavor and not overly fried. There was a perfect balance of richness and succulence that is difficult to deliver in such a small package.

For entrees, I ordered the seabass and my wife had the shrimp scampi. The bass was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of broccoli puree with red peppers and leeks. The fish itself melted in my mouth and the puree had a rich assortment of flavors that perfectly accentuated the bass.

I had a sampling of the Shrimp Scampi and it was equally delectable. The shrimp were enormous yet still juicy and served with garlic and olive oil. I could detect hints of red pepper flake that gave the dish an extra bit of zest. I was happy with choosing the seabass but on another night I might have to get the shrimp.

For dessert, we ordered a banana Creme Brûlée. It tasted like biting into a banana-flavored cloud. The cream was so light and flavorful it was like tasting cotton candy without the horsehair textures. My wife also ordered a side of the homemade vanilla ice cream that was equally delicious. It had the rich and understated taste of a handcrafted product and was the perfect side dish.

When the check came, I was shocked at how affordable the meal had been. The food was gourmet quality. Naturally, I expected gourmet prices. Yet it was one of the most reasonably priced meals I’ve had in the past six months.

I’ve been recommending Arachnid Cafe to everyone. If you are looking for high-quality cuisine at a fast causal price, then this is the restaurant for you. They are open seven days a week at 1234 Eerie BLVD. Call (555) 212-3437 to make a reservation today.
